My Reading

what you have read, are reading, and mean to read
kept on your library card

A reading log that is yours for life: one line for every book you finished, began, or set aside to read, dated the day you recorded it. It lives on your library card, so it opens in every room of the house, and it comes home with you as a file whenever you ask.

The first drop brings in your history from Goodreads, which keeps no door open for programs any more but still lets you take your own shelves away as a file. Bring that file here. This page reads it in your browser and keeps what matters: the title, the author, which shelf, the date, and your own rating, review and notes. It keeps no book text, no cover and no link. A second drop next year adds only the new rows.

How to get the file from Goodreads
  1. Sign in at Goodreads and open My Books.
  2. In the left column under Tools, choose Import and export.
  3. Press Export Library, wait a moment, then follow the link to download goodreads_library_export.csv.
  4. Drop that file below.

Download my history gives this log as a Hoard bundle (JSON) and as CSV. Download everything gives every room's rows on your card, the same way. No capture without export.
